MOORING ROPE - MANILA 80mm x 14m

Tags

A 100 year old, 14 metre (42.6') length of big-ship Manila hemp mooring rope (sometimes called cable) from the Port Adelaide wharves. The rope's diameter is approximately 80mm (3.15"), and the overall length of 14m includes the frayed ends. It's actually two pieces of rope that have been spliced together, with the main part being about 12 metres in length, and the shorter piece being about 2 metres in length. The splicing gives that section of the rope a much larger diameter.

Ideal as rope edging, or a rope barrier for a small seaside garden, a treetop adventure park catenary rope bridge, a tug-of-war* rope, or a battle* rope.

*Wearing of gloves is recommended when used in sporting applications.
