Poster, White Star Line RMS Titanic
Description
This poster celebrates the launch of the R.M.S. Titanic from the Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast, Northern Ireland on May 31 1911. It hardly requires any background information, but for those of you that are unfamiliar with its history, the RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner operating under the White Star Line flag that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City. The sinking of Titanic caused the deaths of 1,514 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history. She was the largest ship afloat at the time of her maiden voyage. The 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic has now passed, but we will not forget that doomed ship. Notes:
