This medium sized teak ship's wheel has eight turned spokes, a central brass hub and a wide brass rim plate on both sides.
The overall diameter (spoke to spoke) is 72 cm (28.3") and the central brass hub has a diameter of 8.9 cm (3½"). The hub has a 19 mm (3/4") diameter hole* to suit a round shaft. The thick brass rim plate is 2.6 cm (1") wide and is secured with 24 large head brass screws.
The wheel is exceptionally well made, however a minor crack has developed in one of the spokes (see deatiled photos). |
